A week-long Norfolk festival has been cancelled after just two days because of miserable summer weather.
Norwich Wine Week began on Friday but due to safety concerns linked to the heavy rain, it was forced to cancel its event in Chapelfield Gardens in Norwich on Sunday.
There are two elements to the wine-tasting event, with a festival in the city centre gardens from June 14 to 16 and a showcase at various city venues from June 14 to 22.
A spokesman for the festival said: "Sadly, due to the exceptionally heavy rainfall we experienced yesterday (Saturday), and further rainfall overnight, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Sunday 16th June session of the Norwich Wine Week Festival in Chapelfield Gardens."

"The safety of the public and our exhibitors is the most important thing to us, and – while we were really looking forward to celebrating with you all – the wellbeing of everyone attending the festival must come first.
"The site itself is simply too waterlogged to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone."
Anybody who purchased tickets for today's event - which were priced at £15pp for general admission - should have received an email from the company with information regarding refunds.
