Norwich City Council has issued an update on its £3.2 million city centre revamp which was due to be completed last month. 

In its update, City Hall has said it is working closely with one of the contractors as the delays roll on.

A spokesperson for Norwich City Council said: "We are working with the contractor, Tarmac, to complete work to open Hay Hill at the earliest opportunity.

"Once we have a firm date for completion from Tarmac, we will officially invite people to come along and see the redevelopment of a much-loved part of our city centre this summer.

"Thank you to everyone for their patience, especially nearby businesses, as we encourage Tarmac to complete the project and make it available for everyone to enjoy."

At the end of April, a city council spokesman confirmed that the project would be finished by the end of May - despite requesting an extension for the work to continue into June.

Norwich City Council was approached by this paper for more information, but they did not comment further.
