A man was arrested in a busy city street on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a number of police officers in the Goldsmith Street area of Dereham Road at around 11.30am yesterday.
A Norfolk Constabulary spokeswoman has confirmed the force arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of theft in connection with an incident at a shop in Dereham Road.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he remains.
Since being taken into custody, he has been further arrested on suspicion of two more incidents of theft from a shop in Norwich Road - one on Sunday, June 16 and another on Monday, June 17.
