A new events space may be coming to a popular country park just outside the city.

A1 Hospitality Limited, a Doncaster-based firm, has applied to South Norfolk Council for permission to use Warners Park in Whitlingham Lane to hold social functions, play live music and sell alcohol.

The company is seeking to hold up to eight events at the site annually, with recorded and live music played between midday and 9.30pm from Friday to Sunday.

It is currently unknown how the space will be designed but dance and the provision of alcohol are mentioned in the application, suggesting festival tents and pop-up stalls.

Warners Park is located to the west of Whitlingham Broad Campsite and has previously been used as a temporary campsite.

Its most notable use in recent years has been as a grazing field for sheep and cows.

Anyone wishing to object to the proposal is being asked to write to the council's licensing team by July 8.
