Two school pupils plan to honour their "favourite teacher" after his death aged just 37.

Hunter, nine, and Rudi Seed, 10, attend St William's Primary School in Thorpe St Andrew, where Anthony Hill worked.

The pair, who live in Plumstead Road East with their mum Nicola Seed, are holding a community litter pick in Sir George Morse Park from 10am on Saturday in memory of Mr Hill.

Nicola said the teacher's love for the environment was instilled early on in Hunter's education and helped him have his "best school year".

She said: "Mr Hill helped Hunter set up a lunchtime litter picking club in year three, sharing his awareness of the need for litter picking all around.

"He made Hunter feel so special for looking after the environment and supported him so much throughout his time in year three he said it was his best school year.

"Mr Hill then taught Hunter last year and also had an afterschool maths club every Thursday, which Hunter went to, so they kept a close bond throughout.

"Rudi is also very aware of the impact the news had within the school and so is his brother.

"Mr Hill was Hunter's favourite teacher."

Nicola added: "Obviously they were emotional about what happened but doing the fundraiser has helped them channel that grief.

"They're always checking the money raised before they go to bed and when they wake up.

"The target was originally £100 and now it's almost at £900 - they're blown away by the generosity of everyone."
