Drug users gathering around a bench outside a man's home are continuing to make his life a misery almost a year since he pleaded for it to be removed.

Jonathan Baker, who lives in Cannell Green in NR3, has been begging Norwich City Council to remove the bench at the back of his home earlier this year.

Despite receiving an email from Tim Bacon, the city council's Safer Neighbourhoods coordinator, at the end of May saying it would be removed in a couple of weeks, no action has been taken on the bench since it was installed a few years ago.

However, the council now say it should be removed by "mid-July".

Mr Baker, who has lived in the area since 2009, said: "It's been going on for so long and there are more issues than ever with people taking drugs.

"I can't sleep at night because of all this activity and I'm now really unwell.

"It means I'm so stressed out all of the time and I don't think the effect it's having on me is being taken seriously.

"However it's still there - nothing has happened."

Soon after the bench started attracting drug users Mr Baker said he became too anxious and afraid to go outside.
