Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was threatened with a knife in a city park.

Five teens were involved in two assaults at Eaton Park between 6.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday.

In the first incident, a group of three teenagers started a verbal altercation with a teenage boy while he was playing football and then assaulted him.

Later on, two teenage boys threw paper towels at a man in his 20s and then assaulted him before threatening him with a knife.

A teenage boy was arrested for assault in connection with the first incident.

A second teenage boy was arrested in connection with the second assault and a public order offence.

Both of the teenagers have been interviewed at Wymondham Police Station and have been released on bail until September 9 with conditions not to enter Eaton Park.

Sgt Chris Clay said: “The park was busy at the time of the incidents so if you saw anything or the group believed to be four teenage boys and one teenage girl or any events leading up to the incidents on Tuesday evening, we would like you to get in touch.

"There will also be additional patrols at the park to provide reassurance to the public.”
