The sentencing of a man who wanted to end his life in a fire he started before punching a firefighter who turned up to put out the blaze has been adjourned.
Timothy Finn, who suffers from mental health difficulties, started a fire at a property in Fairway Drive, Watton and punched out at a firefighter - hitting his respiratory mask - before he was dragged out of the burning building.
The 36-year-old was due to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on Friday, having previously admitted arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered and assaulting an emergency worker on October 4 last year.
When the sentence was originally listed in April, the court heard how Finn was "without a doubt a very troubled individual" who had been intending to take his own life when he lit the fire.
Rob Pollington, mitigating, previously said Finn, of no fixed abode, had been "in a point of mania" and was "deeply affected by his mental health".
Recorder Michael Turner adjourned the matter for a further case management hearing on Tuesday when Dr Toral Thomas, of the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust will link in so that options can be discussed.
