A Norfolk performing arts school will lift the curtain on two student-led productions this summer.

The shows will feature the skills and efforts of pupils at Mays Performing Arts (MPA).

The first, The Little Mermaid Junior, is slated for July 20 and 21 at Norwich Puppet Theatre.

The second, Runway Cabaret, will follow on August 9 and 10 at The Garage Norwich.

All aspects of the productions, including the performances, costumes and set designs, are products of the students' dedication and creativity.

The cast includes children from various parts of Norfolk, even including some from as far as Ukraine, who have been granted scholarships and show programmes.

The founder of MPA, Miss Harriet, has battled health challenges that ended her own dancing career but did not deter her from pursuing her passion for the performing arts.

Her love for the craft led to the establishment of the school, which this year marks its fifth anniversary.
