A vehicle has smashed through a supermarket's car wash machine to force its closure.
The incident happened at the Tesco Extra petrol station in Sprowston around 5pm yesterday.
One bystander said the driver of a car had "stretched" to enter the code into the entry system and hit the accelerator.
This led to them crashing through the car wash and "flying through the fence" at the other end of the Blue Boar Lane facility.
Both the rubber scrubbers and metal framing were torn away from the machine and a large fence panel was knocked away.

A Tesco spokesman said: "The car wash at our Norwich Extra store is closed following an accident that occurred yesterday evening.
"We apologise for the inconvenience."
