Awards celebrating architectural brilliance in Broadland are now accepting nominations.

The Enhancement Awards, hosted by Broadland District Council, are a recognition of exceptional refurbishment projects, designed to elevate the area's built environment while retaining its unique charm.

Cllr Caroline Karimi-Ghovanlou, chairwoman of the Awards Panel, expressed the significance of these accolades.

She said: “These awards celebrate fantastic design that enhances our built environment and preserves the special character of our beautiful district.

"A huge amount of work, time and money goes into restoring, converting or extending a building and we want to highlight not just the building, but the vision people have to put in the hard work, and to create and restore unique and inspirational spaces.

"I am looking forward to visiting all the nominees who are always so passionate and proud of their accomplishments.”

Rewarding both traditional and modern design, the criteria for eligible projects include significantly elevating the surrounding area, displaying respect for its scale and character, and being a noticeable improvement on the original structure.

In the previous year, the top honour was bestowed upon The Lodge at Drayton project, carried out by Hidden Talent Homes.

The developers successfully transformed a 1914 building into eight individual units while conserving a historic 15th century lodge located on the premises, thus effectuating its removal from the Buildings at Risk Register.
