A major city route has closed for emergency electrical works.
Unthank Road will be closed until Friday, July 26 for essential utility repair and maintenance works due to a supply fault.
The First Bus 25 blue line service will be diverted via Newmarket Road in both directions.

🔄 Diversion via Newmarket Rd in both directions.
A two-mile diversion route will redirect traffic towards Mile End Road, Newmarket Road, St Stephens Road, St Stephens Roundabout, Chapelfield Road, A147 and Convent Road.

The works are being carried out by UK Power Networks.
The road closure extends from Christchurch Road to Beechbank.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times throughout the closure.
