Police have arrested a teenager in connection with an incident which left a child covered in glass.
A stone was hurled at a passing car on Thursday, along Ringland Road, causing its window to smash and shards of glass to fall on a young child sitting in the vehicle.
The arrest comes after a string of similar offences occurred over a recent two-week span in the nearby Costessey area that police are still investigating.
A police spokesman said: "Officers have arrested a teenager following an incident of criminal damage to a vehicle in Ringland, near Taverham.
"The incident occurred on Ringland Road on July 18, at 4.30pm in which a stone was thrown at a passing vehicle, causing a window to smash and the shards of glass to fall on a young child.
"A teenage boy was arrested yesterday, on July 21, on suspicion of criminal damage and assault – GBH – and was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
"He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue, with conditions not to enter the Ringland Hills area."
There have been a string of similar incidents, with more than 10 cars which have had windows smashed and bodywork dented by thrown objects - likely stones - while driving between Longwater Retail Park and Roundwell Park.
Police confirmed the teenager was arrested for the one incident, with the other attacks in Costessey remaining under investigation separately.

"I hope it may have a knock-on effect for any other youths that think this type of behaviour is acceptable.
"It's not the way people entering adulthood should be acting and it could ruin people's lives and caused a serious accident - or worse.
"We want the younger generation to be part of the community and not out there terrorising others."
