A golfing event garnered substantial monetary support for a charity committed to ending homelessness.

More than 100 golf enthusiasts graced the greens of the Royal Norwich golf club, their sporting efforts yielding a handsome £9,300 for the Hopestead charity.

Marie-Claire Delbrouque, Hopestead CEO, acknowledged the significant impact of the fundraising total, she said: "I’m really taken aback at just how much was raised this year – this means we can continue our work with local communities and do more for the people we support, and ultimately it helps us towards our goal of ending homelessness.”

Preparations for the charity event saw 'longest drive' and 'nearest the pin' tournaments pre-empting a full 18-hole round.

Money from the event will support initiatives like Hope at Home, a programme helping people move from homelessness to social housing by providing essentials.

Ms Delbrouque further expressed gratitude to event organisers, Flagship Services and Gasway, alongside host, Royal Norwich.

Flagship Services’ Neal Simmons said: “We had a great time, and it’s all worth it to contribute to the incredible work Hopestead does to tackle homelessness day in, day out.”
