A man has been arrested during a police crackdown in the city centre.

Officers have carried out patrols across Norwich to monitor high-crime areas for anti-social behaviour.

A man in his 30s was arrested in St Stephens Street on suspicion of a public order offence during patrols on Thursday.

He was also arrested on suspicion of making off without payment following an incident at a restaurant in Barrack Street last Monday.

Following further patrols across the city, officers carried out two searches which resulted in cannabis being seized.

Some of the areas officers covered included Norwich Train Station, Riverside Walk, Tombland, Exchange Street, St Benedicts Street, Rosary Road, Old Library Wood and St Augustines Street.
