A summer charity open day is scheduled at the oldest private garden in Norwich for a children’s charity.
The Bishop of Norwich’s garden will host the final fête of the season on August 4 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The four-acre sanctuary is replete with flower-filled borders, exotic plants, and a fruit and vegetable garden.
Unique to the garden is a 400-year-old pear tree and a 700-year-old ruin - all overlooking Norwich Cathedral.

The Bishop’s House Garden has served Norwich for more than nine centuries, showcasing nature’s beauty and hospitably providing sustenance.
The organically cared for garden is the residence of the Bishop, the Rt Revd Graham Usher and is a sanctuary for scant and atypical flora and fauna.
Throughout the year, Bishop Usher opens his home and garden for quiet days, retreats, and to aid local causes.
Sunday’s event will take place from 1pm-4.30pm (last entry at 4pm).
Entry is £5, however, children, and wheelchair users may enter for free.
Tea and plants will be on sale.
