Fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a home in the NR2 area of Norwich.
Six fire appliances were called just before 7am to a house fire in Nelson Street, near Dereham Road.
Appliances from North Earlham, Carrow, Sprowston, Hethersett and Dereham alongside the aerial ladder platform from North Earlham were at the scene.
The road opposite The Fat Cat pub was closed while emergency services were present.
A cordon was put in place around the area with a police car blocking the road.
Smoke was seen billowing from the top of the home and people were evacuated from the property.
Firefighters were seen putting on masks and equipment to go inside.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.
Part of the roof has been damaged in the fire.
The property had a glass balcony which had been smashed, with glass falling onto the cars parked below.
Ambulance crews were at the scene but no injuries have been reported.
