A long-standing business on the outskirts of the city has been put up for sale after the owner decided to hang up the clippers.
Christopher Spry, director of Christopher Spry hair and beauty, confirmed it was "time to slow down" with his wife Jane after 46 years in the business - 26 of those at the Drayton-based site.
The 61-year-old said: "Jane and I have been in the business for a long time now.
"I've been in the industry since 1978 and had this salon since 1998, so it's time to slow down now.
"I liked art coming out of school, but wasn't sure what to do, so I went for a job in hairdressing and that was where it all began.
"We're now just hoping to enjoy some time with the grandchildren and see our son who recently moved to Wales."
The business is on the market for £450,000 and has been described by the agent, Rightbiz, as a "renowned hair and beauty salon with a rich history".

The salon operates Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 6pm, Friday from 9am to 7pm, and Saturday from 8.30am to 5pm.

Mr Spry added: "Someone will be buying into a fantastic business.
"It's still very busy and profitable, with a fantastic following - we have a very low staff turnover.
"We're one of the few salons that still employ staff instead of renting out chairs so it helps keep staff here.
"Me and my wife have absolutely loved our time here, but the trade has changed a lot since starting.
"A lot of aspects are now online and I just don't have the inkling for it, so it's time to move on."
