Police have been forced to close multiple cases of vandalism, including "racist and offensive" graffiti, after no suspect was found.

Three separate location in Thorpe St Andrews within a couple of miles of each other were recently targeted by vandals.

Beauty spot River Green, next to the River Yare, was subject to the hateful graffiti on its toilet walls.

Sir George Morse Park had a toilet seat smashed and urinals filled with shingle, while Fitzmaurice Park's youth shelter was also covered in graffiti.

However two weeks on from the incidents and police have had to close the cases.

A police spokeswoman said: "We received reports of two of the crimes, the toilet vandalism and graffiti.

Michelle Barron, chief executive officer for Thorpe St Andrew Town Council, said last week she was "very disappointed" about the incidents.

She said: "Although vandalism happens in Thorpe St Andrew from time to time we're very disappointed to see several instances over the weekend across River Green, as well as the Sir George Morse and Fitzmaurice parks.

In October 2022 students from Thorpe Sixth Form redecorated the shelter in Fitzmaurice Park as part of a joint project with the town council.

Part of Sir George Morse Park had to be closed off after a broken piece of a climbing frame was discovered in July 2023.
