A search to find a man suspected of stabbing another man to death is continuing.
Officers were called to Paragon Place at about 6.45pm on Friday to reports a man had been stabbed.
Norfolk Police confirmed that a man aged in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.
A manhunt was launched on Friday by police and urgent inquiries are ongoing to find the suspect.
The suspect fled the scene following an attack in which the victim was stabbed in broad daylight at a busy footpath by flats in West Pottergate near Grapes Hill.
There was a large emergency presence at the scene on Friday night including armed police officers.
Three air ambulance rapid response vehicles also attended the scene with a privacy tent being raised in the centre of the cordon.
Officers were reportedly using a drone and police dogs to search the area.
Detective Superintendent Mike Brown from the Norfolk Major Investigation Team said: “We recognise the concerns people in the area will have and would urge anyone to speak to our officers.
“While we are still in the early stages of the investigation, we do believe the parties involved were known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public.
“We are working through a number of lines of enquiry in order to trace the suspect, and while these enquiries are active, we will not be releasing the suspect’s description.
“This will of course be reviewed as the investigation progresses and should we need to a description will be released.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Norfolk Police quoting reference 433 of August 2 2024.
