The opening date for a bakery looking to “rival Greggs” has been announced.
Frank’s Bakery and Baps is set to open on Friday August 9 at 7am.
It will be located in the former Allsorts Hardware shop in The Paddocks in Old Catton.
It is owned by businessman Marcus Pearcey. He said: "We are looking to rival Greggs with really great value produce.”
The baked items available in the shop will be from another site owned by the Pearceys - Easters Bakery in Costessey - which is a small craft bakery that has proved hugely popular in the community.
Customers will be able to enjoy cakes, bread, filled baps, scotch eggs, quiches and sausage rolls at the site, which is right next to Morrisons, and will be available to eat in or takeaway.
The cafe and bakery could be the first of many as Mr Pearcey hopes to expand the Frank's franchise into other areas of the city.
