Fire crews were called to Rackheath after a blaze broke out in a field.
An eyewitness saw flames rising from the crops in the centre of the field off Green Lane just before 6.45pm and immediately alerted the emergency services.
Appliances from Earlham and Sprowston attended the scene but the fire had been extinguished before their arrival.
They received their stop message at 7pm.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
