Franks Bakery and Baps has opened in Old Catton near Norwich

Frank's Bakery and Baps opened in the Paddocks in Old Catton on Friday morning and has instantly become a hit destination.

Marcus Pearcey, who owns the bakery, is over the moon.

"We have had a really good following straight off the bat," he said.

"This part of Old Catton doesn't have a place for people to meet and I'm passionate about creating hubs for communities.

"It's been great seeing how popular it is."

The cafe has proven such a hit that Marcus is looking at opening another, with hopes of having four bakeries around Norfolk by the end of 2025.

"We are looking at opening more Frank's in market towns," he revealed.

"We are currently sniffing around Dereham - but nothing is in the works yet.

"People love going out for coffee and cake, and there are some amazing bakeries around Norfolk but some are very expensive.

"There are so many empty shops, and this is a really hard time for retailers right now, so having an affordable product that you can't buy on Amazon will go a long way."

All of the cakes and breads on offer are baked daily at Easters Bakery in Costessey, which is also owned by Marcus. 

"As we are baking it all ourselves we can control the cost of the product," said Marcus.

"We want to keep it reasonable and to be fair with our customers."

The bakery has a range of filled baps on offer, all available to takeaway at £3.50.

The coffees all cost £2.50 and there is a huge variety of cakes which start at around £1 each.

Frank's Bakery and Baps is open from 7am daily.
