One lucky local came home £38,000 richer after one of her regular trips to the bingo.
The winner is known to be a regular at the Mecca Bingo branch in Aylsham Road but this particular trip was one she will not forget.
Winning on the big bonus game for just £1, the round is played six times a day with the jackpot rolling over until it is won.
This particular prize on August 2, triggered the national jackpot amounting to £38,000, leaving the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, in a state of shock.
Michelle Buller duty manager at the club said: "The winner was so shocked that we made her a cup of tea to help her calm down.
"Once the news sank in, she was so happy. She really couldn’t believe how much she’d won and kept saying ‘pinch me’.
“Making winners is such a lovely part of the job, we’re just overjoyed for her.
"All of our clubs link up to play Big Bonus and at first everyone thought that the winner had won our local full house prize of nearly £1,600.

"Then the caller announced that because they’d completed their ticket in under 41 calls they’d also triggered the national jackpot, which had built up to over £36,400."
The caller at the time Julie Milton recalled that the whole club began cheering at the news.
“When I saw the sum come up on my screen I shouted and the whole club started clapping and cheering," she said.
"I’ve been the Saturday caller here for three years and it’s the biggest jackpot I’ve given away.
"I was just so excited and happy for our winner.”
