A super slimmer from Mile Cross has shed more than five stones and is now crowned as the local group's Woman of the Year 2024.

Carol Marshall Nicols, 46, who used to weigh 16 stones 6lb, is now down to 10 stones 13lb.

The transformation was achieved through her dedication in the Slimming World group she joined in October 2023.

Carol was inspired to join the group after a family loss.

This is her first time trying to lose weight and she said that Slimming World felt different because it was so simple.

She said: "I could still enjoy hearty, home-cooked meals with my family while losing weight, which seemed like a miracle at the time."

She expresses her gratitude for the group’s support and the welcoming atmosphere.

Following the Slimming World’s food optimising plan, Carol has explored healthier eating habits.

Her adventurous kitchen practices quickly rubbed off on her family and friends.

Alongside the meal plan changes, she engaged in physical activities, starting with simple walks, which eventually evolved into routine cycling.

Well supported by her group, achieving her target weight is very much within her reach.

Unwavering in her commitment, Carol attends the Mile Cross group sessions weekly.

She is passionate about giving the same kindness, warmth, and compassion she received to other members.

Carol's remarkable transformation has her in the running for the national title of Slimming World Woman of the Year 2024 competition.

With examples like Carol's, the Slimming World group provides effective long-term weight management strategies.

Studies conducted in 2023 demonstrate that the group’s influence extends to members’ families, promoting healthier lifestyle choices.
