A 19-year-old moped thief has been in court after hitting the city in a crime spree.

Charlie Barrett, of St Mary's Road in Stalham, appeared in Norwich Magistrates last Thursday when he pleaded guilty to driving offences, criminal damage, vehicle theft and handling stolen goods.

The spate of offences around Norwich, all occurred within just two months beginning on June 28.

It includes being found in possession of a stolen Honda moped after it was taken from Gertrude Road overnight on June 28.

Barrett was also found to be driving a moped on false number plates on Southalls Way on July 6 as well as stealing a Yamaha moped from outside an address on St Olaves Road on August 21.

The same day he was arrested and taken to Wymondham Police Station where he was later charged.

He was remanded on conditional bail and is due to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on September 23.
