A coffee fanatic who has worked in cafés across the country has opened her own shop in Norwich with a focus on handmade biscuits.

Emily Pritchard-Gordon, 45, is the owner and manager behind Brew and Biscuit Coffee Shop in Hall Road.

After more than a decade in the hospitality industry, Ms Pritchard-Gordon, originally from Litchfield near Birmingham, decided to embark on her own caffeinated journey.

"Since then I've worked in cafés for a long time but it was always the little things that I couldn't change that used to niggle me.

"Whether it was the colours of the wall, the mugs and cups or the coffee they used, I wanted to be able to have my own input and more of a personal investment in it."

The launch of the shop in June was kept "lowkey" as Ms Pritchard-Gordon is solely responsible for the entire café.

Nearly three months in, Brew and Biscuit has had a warm reception from the community with some regulars already established.

“Community is a big part of it for me, it is something that hugely motivates me,” she added.

"I'm trying to keep all the produce as local as I can, with the coffee from Etude in Bungay and the tea from Norfolk-based Black Dog."

As the name would suggest the café offers a selection of handmade biscuits and bakes.

With the business becoming more established, it is looking to expand its selection with even more bakes, including cinnamon rolls, and soups as the colder weather approaches.
