A hangar in the grounds of the city's airport has been given the go ahead to host events such as product launches, networking and even weddings.

Hangar Two, at the Klyne Business Aviation Centre in Norwich Airport, submitted plans to Norwich City Council in July.

In the statement put together by agent, One Planning Consultants, it says the hangar would be used to hold events such as "product launches, charity events, conferences, networking events and weddings".

It added the hangar has already been the backdrop to some previous, non-profit, events during the last few years "without any complaints and with agreement of the airport".

The hangar is said to be able to hold up to 600 people, with some events being held during the day but ending at midnight "to ensure disturbance to local residences is kept to a minimum".

The aviation aspect of the hangar on a day-to-day-basis would remain the same.

With the approval of the council the hangar is to become a key part of the business with up to 15 events being held a year.
