A grade II-listed town hall could become flats as new plans for the building.
Wymondham Town Hall in Middleton Street might be transformed into six homes if South Norfolk District Council approves the plans.
The building used to be the home of Wymondham Town Council before it relocated to a new office in Kett's Park.
The top floor of the property is already a three-bedroom flat and the ground and first floors are set up as offices.
If current designs go ahead, the building will be divided into five one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat.
Each flat will have an open-plan kitchen, living area and dining room, with ensuite toilets in each bedroom.
Located in the heart of town, this has also been proposed as a car-free building, with cycle storage included in the plans.
Under the plans, little will change for the building's exterior, as there are no designs to extend the property, but the windows will undergo some refurbishment.

According to the agents, One Planners, who are working on behalf of the applicant, Mr N Bunton, the building is not up to a "modern standard" and "requires upgrades" to bring it back into use.
The old town hall is grade II listed and falls within the Wymondham Conservation Area.
The application says that the former office block was first used as a townhouse and has a history dating back to 1795.
The records show that Randall Burroughes, who was a very wealthy and influential landowner, built the house for his mother-in-law, Mrs Denton.
When the town council moved out, the building went on the market with Roche Surveyors, who marketed the site as a whole with the buildings to the rear.
However, the building never received any offers and was sold at auction.
South Norfolk Council is aiming to make a decision on this application by October 23.
