A popular pub overlooking the River Yare is closing its doors today as it gears up for a huge new refurbishment.

The Rushcutters Arms in Thorpe St Andrew will be shut for the next few weeks as it undergoes another six-figure investment.

The work will see "major renovations" to both the inside and outside of the Yarmouth Road pub, just outside the city.

Undergoing another large refurb in 2019, the pub installed an open fireplace, timber and stone flooring, and new furnishings.

The Grade II listed boozer is known for its pleasant views across the river from its large garden, attracting people to moor nearby.

The pub will reopen in October, with details of the renovations being revealed closer to the time.
