The owner of a dog which attacked a nine-year-old boy at a city play park has been ordered to keep it muzzled at all times.
Police issued the instructions after the dog bit the boy's ear leaving him bloody, battered and bruised at Astro Play Park in Bowthorpe.
Officers found the owner of the dog and issued the incident form shortly after the incident in July.
A constabulary spokeswoman said: "The form places conditions on the owner which state the dog must be kept on a lead and muzzled at all times in a public place.
"The owner must also secure and maintain the security of the garden or enclosure the dog is in and must be microchipped.
"The dog can only be walked by those over the age of 16 and must be taken to a recognised dog training class."
The incident happened on July 23 when Claire Angelina was visiting the park with her two sons, Adam, seven, and Ryan.

She said: "I'm as satisfied as I can be and just hope no other children will get hurt.
"Hopefully the owner has learned his lesson and the police will keep an eye on him.
"However, Ryan is now absolutely terrified of dogs, big or small.
"I’ve been trying to slowly let him get close to dogs that are on a lead and with their owner to try and teach him not all dogs are out of control like the one which attacked him."
