Concerned locals from a Norwich estate where a man was found dead have said police are "always" there amid "a lot of trouble" in the area.

Officers have launched a murder investigation after discovering the body of a man with a single stab wound.

Emergency services were called to a property on Lefroy Road in Mile Cross at 10.40pm on Saturday, September 21, after concerns a man had been stabbed.

The following afternoon, police were still at the scene and an entire apartment block on Lefroy Road remained sealed off.

A tent was set up at the back of the building while investigations continued, with forensic officers also at the scene.

A resident who has lived in the area for 20 years said: "The police are always around here. There is a lot of trouble on this estate."

He said the road was quiet when he first moved there but over the last few years it has "just got more noisy".

"I keep myself to myself," he said.

A woman who has lived on the road for six years said that news of the death was "not very nice".

"I've never known anything like this happening here before.

"It is quite concerning when you hear that kind of thing going on. It's so sad when someone loses their life like that."

She said police do come to the road "but no more than any other area".

"A lot of people are living in a very small area," she said. "And if you have a lot of people living in such a small area, there will be issues."

Another woman said she often heard "loud music" coming from the flats where the body was found.

"It's awful. There's always police around this way, on this road," she said.
