A popular city pub will be opening later after getting the green light from Norwich City Council.
The Fat Cat on Norwich's West End Street has been given permission to keep The Mad Cat bar open until 12.30am on Friday and Saturday, until midnight Monday to Thursday and until 10.30pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The bar forms part of an extension to The Fat Cat but has been operating under different hours since opening in 2023.
This is the second time planning approval has been sought to open the bar later.
The first attempt, filed in May 2023, was refused by Norwich City Council before the end of that year.
City Hall rejected the application on the basis the site is outside the city's Late Night Activity Zone and would "result in harm to residential amenity through noise and disturbance".
The recent approval from Norwich City Council states that The Mad Cat shall not be open to the public, trading, or have members of the public, as customers or guests, on the premises after midnight from Monday through to Thursday, 12:30am on Friday and Saturday and 10.30pm on Sundays."
It also cannot open before 11am between Mondays and Saturdays or before 12noon on Sundays.
