A Golden Triangle pub has reopened with new tenants - the third ones in just three years.

The Belle Vue pub in Norwich has thrown open its doors once again after a short time closed.

Speculation began on Facebook in mid-September, with many questioning why the St Philips Road pub was listed as "permanently closed" on Google.

The Stonegate Group, who own the site, have now confirmed that the pub was shut while a new tenant moved in.

"Located in Norwich’s Golden Triangle, this Victorian pub is a local favourite, known for its quality cask ales, good food, and welcoming atmosphere. We’re excited to continue serving the local community in such a prime location."

However, the new publican is yet to release its opening hours and nothing is known about them, with the voices of previous publicans Sarah Johnson and her partner John Hinds still playing on the answerphone.

The Belle Vue was the first pub the couple had run together, having moved from Lowestoft in 2022 to take over the reins.

The pub was boarded up for most of 2021 and branded an "eyesore" by local Green Party city councillor Lucy Galvin.

It reopened at the end of the year and had undergone a major renovation, with then-boss Ben James saying that he had plans to turn the venue into a community hub.

By January 2022 the pub was back on the market.

The pub dates back to the 19th century, having been first licensed in 1878, according to the Norfolk Pubs website.
