Much of Dereham Road in Easton currently does not have a strict limit enforced, instead having the national limit for a single-lane carriageway which is 60mph.
Norfolk County Council will cut this nearly in half, dropping the limit between Bluebell Way and the Longwater interchange to 40mph.
This road, which runs through the middle of Easton, also serves Festival Park which is a development of 890 new homes next to the Norfolk Showground.
