A city centre car wash has applied to spruce up its site and expand its service.

A car wash facility at the RCP Car Park in Ber Street, next to the former Style Health and Fitness gym, will also be brining in new staff as part of the revamp.

In the application submitted by Babak Ahmadi on Tuesday, the proposal is for the refurbishment of the existing car wash and the construction of three new open bays.

Agents for Mr Ahmadi, Architects Two, outlined what changes are planned for the 1,420 sqm site.

The new 18m x 5.45m bays will be used for cleaning and valeting cars and will be accessed via the existing car park leading to the car wash.

Despite being located along a busy city centre road the agent is confident that the "modest alterations" to the existing site will not cause any issues to public transport.

The application also states that five new jobs will be created with the site's expansion.

Those wishing to comment on the new application have until October 22, with an internal recommendation date by the case officer of November 25.
