The city council has failed to meet its own deadline for the reopening of a park which has undergone an extensive refurbishment.
Jenny Lind Park, just west of Chapelfield Gardens, was supposed to open yesterday after its revamp.
But eight-foot-tall fences remain in place around the green space which is still off limits to children and families.
A local woman said she was hoping to take her three-year-old daughter and five-year-old son to the park after school but was disappointed to find it still out of action.

Norwich City Council has failed to respond to queries as to when the park will reopen.
Work has been carried out in the last few weeks to replace the "end-of-life" play equipment with a new swing set, climbing frame and sand pit at Jenny Lind Park.
It comes as part of a £1.1M Norwich City Council programme to revamp play parks around the city which was announced in February.
Adam Giles, cabinet member for communities and social inclusion, said they were "delighted" that the money could be invested in play areas such as Waterloo Park, Wensum Park and Eaton Park.
