A men's clothing company has submitted an application to take over the former Virgin Money store in the city centre.
Charles Tyrwhitt is hoping to move into the empty building located on the corner of Castle Street and Davey Street.
In the application, submitted to Norwich City Council yesterday, the retailer stated it wants to place multiple signs around the site near the Royal Arcade and Norwich Market.
It states that there would be "one static illuminated sign" above the entrance door in Castle Street and another sign in Davey Street.
The existing decorated panels on the higher level on Castle Street would also be redecorated as well as "four projecting signs, one on each side of both fascias".
Charles Tyrwhitt specialises in dress shirts, suits, casualwear, shoes and accessories such as ties and belts.
The company was founded by Nick Wheeler in 1986 and has shops around the world including the USA, Paris and the UK - with its flagship shop in London.
The site became available last year when Virgin Money closed its city branch amid national cuts in July.

It announced it was closing 39 sites across the UK, including the one in Castle Street, with 255 workers facing potential redundancy.

An advert for the building then appeared a few months later on retail rental agency website, Completely Retail.
It advertised the 1,207 sqm space as in "a prominent position" within the city with an annual rent of £137,500.
Norfolk County Council Highways have already been approached regarding the application and say it has no objections to the business' application.
Those wishing to comment on the new application have until October 24, with an internal recommendation date by the case officer of November 27.
