5 changes happening to Norfolk businesses in October 2024

1) ORA health café

ORA's acai bowels (Image: Creative Commons) ORA will bring the tastes of Thailand to Norwich with a range of breakfasts and brunches which will include acai bowls, power shakes, power toasties and more as it moves into a unit in the city's Royal Arcade.

It will also serve a range of classic coffees, "healthy" soft drinks, wellness shots, green tea powder and herbal teas.

Although an official opening date is yet to be announced, owner Milly Chalcraft, 24, is aiming to be serving the city by late October.

2) Rushcutter Arms refurbishment

The Rushcutter Arms is undergoing a refurb (Image: Newsquest) The Rushcutters Arms in Thorpe St Andrew closed its doors in September to undergo a six-figure investment.

The work, now in its final stages, will see "major renovations" to both the inside and outside of the Yarmouth Road pub, just outside the city.

It announced it will reopen its doors with a fresh look on October 14.

3) Crumble Crib opens in Sheringham

The Crumble Crib has opened in Sheringham (Image: Crumble Crib) Megan Hart, 33, opened the Crumble Crib in Sheringham this weekend.

The shop allows customers to build their own crumble desserts to take away, starting by choosing a fruit base of either apple and cinnamon, mixed berries or half and half. 

They then pick a crumble, with a vegan option available, and finally a topping of either blow-torched marshmallow or frozen, hot, cold or crème brûlée custard.

The shop is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am until 4pm.

4) Bakers & Larners refurbishment

The new deli area in Bakers & Larners deli in Holt (Image: Bakers & Larners) The popular deli in the Bakers & Larners Food Hall in Holt reopens on Friday at 10am after a six-week transformation.

The new space features an 18-metre counter showcasing the finest cheeses, meats and savoury treats.

Free tastings will take place over the weekend and there will be the opportunity to win a hamper. 

5) Ninety Three Store opening in Norwich

Charlotte Ogley at the original Ninety Three Store at 31 St Augustines Street (Image: @ninetythreestore) Charlotte Ogley, 31 is opening the new Ninety Three Store in 29 St Augustine's Street on Saturday.

The store originally opened next door at number 31 in July 2023 but had to close in July 2024 after her landlord chose to sell the premises.

The fashion and homeware shop sells statement pieces for both the wardrobe and home from brands across Europe.
