A city centre mini market has applied to take over the shop next door to sell food and drink.
The proposal, submitted to Norwich City Council last week, is to convert the use of the former Abbey Coins and Medals Shop.
Thidar Win, who owns Win Asian Mini Market next door, has applied for the "sale of food and drink for consumption" at the premises in Castle Meadow.
The current use of the building is stated as being for the "display or retail sale of goods, other than hot food".

There is a sign in the window of the empty shop confirming it has moved into the Benjamin Joseph Jewellers in Swan Lane, opposite Turtle Bay Caribbean Restaurant.
The owner of the shop said: "We closed the Castle Meadow shop due to the pandemic and just never really opened up again.
"So it's been closed for about four to five years now."
There is an internal recommendation date by the case officer, for the application, of November 28.
