An inquest has opened into the death of man, found at home, after consuming a large amount of alcohol.

Michael Zamonski was born on February 17, 1963 in New Jersey USA, but died at his home in Winchester Tower, Vauxhall Street on September 22 this year.

Senior coroner Samantha Goward read out a statement which stated Mr Zamonski was ID'd at his home by friend James Green. 

She added the circumstances of Mr Zamonski's investigation so far was that the 61-year-old "wasn't feeling well" shortly before his death.

Subsequently the car technician "didn't come into work" which worried colleagues.

The medical cause of death was: "Coronary artery atherosclerosis - also known as coronary heart disease - and acute alcohol intoxication."

Reports have been requested from police, GP, next of kin and mental health services.

The inquest has been set for March 4, 2025 at Norfolk Coroner's Court.
