A major UK tour is heading to Norwich and it stars an award-winning EastEnders actor.
Birdsong, adapted from Sebastian Faulks' bestselling 1993 novel, will be at the Theatre Royal from November 12 to 16 2024.
It tells the story of one man’s journey through an all-consuming love affair and into the horror of the First World War.

In pre-war France, a young Englishman, Stephen Wraysford (James Esler), embarks on a passionate and dangerous affair with the beautiful Isabelle Azaire (Charlie Russell) that turns their world upside down.
As the war breaks out, Stephen must lead his men through the carnage of the Battle of the Somme and the sprawling tunnels that lie deep underground.

Faced with the unprecedented horror of the war, Stephen clings to the memory of Isabelle as his world explodes around him.
The show also stars Max Bowden as Jack Firebrace and he is best known for playing Ben Mitchell in EastEnders, which earned him several soap awards.
