For weeks the city’s new Taco Bell has seemed poised to welcome its first customers even displaying “opening soon” posters in the windows.
But the fast-food outlet in London Street remains firmly shut.
And the company remains tight-lipped about when its doors will finally open.
A spokeswoman for Taco Bell said: "It is likely that the store will be opening this side of Christmas, but the exact date is still to be confirmed."
She was also asked about the cause of the delays but did not comment any further.

Readers of this paper have shared their thoughts about the slow opening of the site.
One person commented: "I'll have died of old age before Taco Bell opens."
Another, who has been to a different store, said: "Food is nice and also cheap. Wasn't fast though - just like the opening of the Norwich store."
When open, the restaurant which serves Mexican-inspired food will have space for 28 diners and can be enjoyed from 11am to 11pm daily.
