A popular coffeehouse chain could soon start work on a new drive-thru after more plans were recently approved.

Coffee company Costa lodged an application with Norwich City Council earlier this year for a branch in the Hall Road Retail Park car park in Tuckswood, near Home Bargains and Asda.

This included proposals for a new drive-thru and signage around the site which was approved this week.

The plans will see the new unit built in an existing section of the car park near Home Bargains and the Food Warehouse.

Signs for the new drive-thru include three illuminated fascia signs, one non-illuminated fascia sign, three internally illuminated pillar signs and a non-illuminated free-standing sign.

The approved plans will result in the loss of 41 parking bays at the retail park but there were few objections prior to the council approving the chain's bid.

The new Costa would be open from 5am until 11pm, seven days a week, and is expected to employ nine full-time members of staff.
