A major city centre road was closed this morning due to concerns for the safety of a man.

Emergency services were called at 9.17am following reports of a man in the car park in St Stephens Street.

The road was closed from the roundabout to the Rampant Horse Street junction and drivers were advised to seek alternative routes.

All the shops on the street, such as Cafe Nero and Yours, were also closed and First Bus diverted services.

The incident was safely resolved at around 11.30am and the man is now being treated by paramedics at the scene.
