A charity has received a £5,000 donation from Tesco's after being nominated by one of the supermarket's customers.
The London Street Norwich Express Tesco had a golden version of their blue voting token, and customers could vote for one of three charities to receive the donation.
The donation was part of Tesco's Stronger Starts scheme.
Break's senior grants fundraiser, Blyth Roelofs-Storie, said: “This funding will help us provide vital Wellbeing and Aspiration sessions for young people growing up in care by offering crucial mental health support and a chance to take part in fun, confidence-boosting activities.
"Through sharing and cooking meals together, they'll not only enjoy delicious food, but they’ll also learn how to create tasty, nutritious meals on a budget.
"Our aim is to empower young people by helping them to build valuable new skills in a supportive environment so they can begin to take that step towards independence.”
This was part of a nationwide effort, where over one hundred Tesco stores participated, with a total of £500,000 donated to causes benefiting children and young people.
