An 11-year-old girl from Norwich is celebrating after winning an international maths competition.
Catherine James, who attends Notre Dame High School, was one of 11 youngsters to win in the British Youth International College (BYITC) Supermaths Challenge.
The free, online competition attracted thousands of competitors from all corners of the globe.
Catherine's parents, Jijo James and Shelly John, said: “The Maths Olympiad has been an incredible journey, and my child couldn’t have done it without BYITC.
"Their expert tutors and mathematics practice materials helped my child prepare well, making her feel confident on the day of the competition.”
The victory came after a week-long challenge, with the competition open to children aged between four and 14.

The challenge, based on BYITC’s Abacus Maths programme, consisted of 50 questions, and the results were based on accuracy and timely completion.
The competition coincided with National Maths Week Scotland and marked the sixth year of the innovative competition organised exclusively for BYITC Supermaths students across the world.
