A new state-of-the-art sports hub is officially opening this weekend after nearly a decade in the works.
Brundall Parish Council will cut the ribbon at the Brundall Sports Hub on Yarmouth Road tomorrow morning, marking a "significant" milestone for the community.
First put forward in 2016 as part of the area's neighbourhood development plan, work was held up because of setbacks including the Covid pandemic and rising material costs.
But an injection of funding from the Premier League and the Greater Norwich Growth Board (GNGB) totalling £709,000 allowed the project to be completed.
The new hub features a pavilion with changing rooms, a kitchen, shared community space and a 3G football pitch.

A 3G pitch is an artificial grass surface that's designed to replicate the look, feel and playing experience of natural grass.
It also features a meeting room that can be booked for local events, gatherings or workshops.
Kevin Wilkins, chairman of Brundall Parish Council, said: "Our long-held ambition has been to significantly enhance recreational provision in the village and the parish council is delighted that Brundall Sports Hub, with a state-of-the-art 3G pitch, is now open for use."

"I would particularly like to take this opportunity to thank the GNGB and the Football Foundation for their generosity in their funding support which has enabled the project to be successfully delivered."
Councillor Sue Holland, chair of the GNGB and leader of Broadland District Council, said: "This is a great example of what can be achieved for our communities when we all work together.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved."
Representatives from the Football Foundation, Community Sports Foundation, Brundall Bolts FC and Brundall Parish Council will inaugurate the hub tomorrow at 11am.
