A Plumstead lad has been left "gutted" after his one-of-a-kind car was vandalised twice in a matter of days. 

Dylan Halls said his green 1990s-era Vauxhall Belmont is the last of its type to still be running in the UK.  

It was described by his dad, Phil, as the "kind of car your granddad used to drive", but Dylan loves it.

Then, just days later, drain cleaner was poured over the bonnet and roof which caused the paint to bubble and plastic mouldings to melt.

Dylan, 23, a classic car mechanic, said: "I've had the car about a year and a half. 

"It's the only one of its colour and spec in the country and one of just 27 Belmonts still going.

The car will require a full strip and respray which Dylan will do himself.

Despite investigating the vandalism, police said all lines of enquiry have been exhausted and the case has been closed.
