A house near Norwich will soon be turned into a care home for children with learning difficulties - despite concerns from neighbours.

The former house of multiple occupancy (HMO) in Thorpe St Andrew will cater to the additional needs of children aged between eight and 17.

Under the plans submitted by applicants Parivar Healthcare, the property will remain as it is, with the company believing in providing a "typical family environment" for the children in its care.

Two employed carers will remain at the house overnight and the home will have "regular visits" from family members and social workers.

One local commented: "There have been numbers of cars parked at different times between 179 and 181 Thunder Lane on the grass verges and inspection cover which affects road safety.

"This a busy road, with the nearby the St Williams Way crossroads it became dangerous to exit and enter our own drives by vehicle."

Cllr Laming said: "The space outside the front of this property for parking is limited and the property is located on a reasonably busy road, which is also a bus route.

"There could therefore be a concern regarding highway safety."
